Welcome to the Nirvana Slash Archive! Est. 2019
The primary purpose of this archive is to collect and preserve information about rock band Nirvana's contribution to bi and gay culture and history.
Also included are quotations related to women's rights/feminism, race and racism, and social class, since these topics tend to intersect with queer politics.
The archivist collects and documents both factual information (including quotes, photographs, videos, audio, etc.) about the band, along with oral history related by fans, which may or may not be fully true, but which shows the thoughts and feelings of the broader Nirvana community.
Any Nirvana fan who is serious about contributing to the archive according to the
listed rules may request to join. Just send
rocknroll1968 a message. Guidance about how I run the archive can be found
here.
NavigationThe easiest way to browse this archive is by using
the tags. I've carefully tagged all quotes and media with date(s), people, sources, and topics of discussion for easy research.
You can search multiple tags at once, if you wish. For example, to view any entry in the archive tagged with
either "person:kurt" or "person:krist",
https://nirvana_slash_archive.dreamwidth.org/tag/person:kurt,person:krist?mode=or would be used. To view all entries in the archive tagged with
both "person:kurt" and "person:krist",
https://nirvana_slash_archive.dreamwidth.org/tag/person:kurt,person:krist?mode=and would be used.
If you use this archive to any significant degree to create your own project, please credit me by including a link to the archive.
